Here's today's feel-good story:
a 70-year-old grandfather rowed unassisted across the entire Atlantic Ocean all in the name of Alzheimer's research.
Frank Rothwell raised almost $1.39 million from 10,000 different donors and dedicated his feat to his brother-in-law Roger who succumbed to the disease during Frank's journey. Frank trained for 18 months, with the crossing lasting 8 weeks from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua 3,000 miles away.
"I like a challenge," Frank explained. "In 2017, I spent five weeks on a deserted island for the Channel 4 program, The Island with Bear Grylls. Before that I was only the 10th person to ever circumnavigate North and South America.”
