Biden Announces Plan To Send Another $1B In Aid To Ukraine

President Joe Biden on Wednesday revealed plans to send another $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine in an effort to stop Russia's quest to take over the country's Donbas region.

The latest aid package will include anti-ship missile launchers, howitzers and ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems -- all of which have been requested by Ukrainian military officials, Biden says. The U.S. will also send along an extra $225 million to help provide water, medical supplies and other essential items for Ukrainian citizens, he adds.

In announcing the new aid package, Biden said the U.S. remains committed "to supporting the Ukrainian people whose lives have been ripped apart by this war."

If Ukraine loses the war, will all the money the U.S. has donated have been wasted?
