Hot Chocolate co-founder Tony Wilson has died at the age of 89.

The singer-songwriter and bassist passed away on April 24 at his home in Trinidad, per a Facebook post from his son, Danny Wilson, as well as the BBC.

"On Friday, my dad, the one and only Tony Wilson, passed away," he wrote. "Words don't do justice to the admiration I have for him as a human being or for his dedication to make his dream of getting the songs he wrote be heard. I am very lucky. I can open up YouTube and see him and hear his voice whenever I want. He meant so much to so many people."

Wilson co-wrote the British band's biggest and signature hit, "You Sexy Thing," in 1975 alongside co-founder Errol Brown. The track hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 was notably featured in films such as The Full Monty, Boogie Nights and Rat Race.

According to his son, Wilson also wrote songs for Herman's Hermits, Mary Hopkins and Mavis John.

Errol and Wilson formed the soul band in 1968. After the success of "You Sexy Thing," Wilson left the group in 1975 and released his debut solo album, I Like Your Style, in 1976.
