President Donald Trump's approval rating among American voters "remains underwater," according to CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten.
Enten showed that Trump's net approval rating was at -12 points, according to CBS News, and -14 points, according to NBC News.
"You can go to a different network but it's the exact same story," Enten said to anchor Jessica Dean during a live newscast.
"Double digits on this, this has been the story throughout much of the Trump presidency. He remains under water as we get past Labor Day, Jessica," Enten added.
Trump's net approval rating has reportedly been negative since March 12, according to Enten.
"Every single day in my aggregated polls since March 12, since March 12. In terms of number of days, 180 days in a row he has been underwater. That is basically half a year," he added.
Last week, Trump was reported to have a 44.1% approval rating and a 51.7% disapproval rating for his job performance, according to polling expert Nate Silver.
"As of today, 44.1 percent of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing and 51.7 percent disapprove. That means his net approval rating has improved slightly over the last week: from -8.3 on August 26th to -7.6 today. But he’s been hovering between -7.5 and -10.3 since mid-July," Silver wrote in his Silver Bulletin Substack released on September 4.
Trump's net approval rating on tariffs was reported to be at -15.3, a drop of -0.3 since the previous week but an increase from the -16.0 reported one month prior.
Gallup had previously reported that Trump's approval ratings for the first eight months of both his first and second terms in office are reportedly lower than any other modern president in the same time frame. The president was previously reported to have a 36% approval rating in August 2017 and 40% for August 2025, both of which are lower than every single president since Ronald Reagan in August 1981.

Last month, Trump's approval rating set a new low for his second term in the Quinnipiac University poll. The survey, which was conducted over a five-day span and concluded on August 25, had Trump at a 37% approval rating and a 55% disapproval rating, with a net negative 18-point approval rating, the lowest since January 2021, the final month of his first term in office.
