Paul Rudd didn't feel famous after cult-classic Clueless was released in 1995 because "everything just went by just a little bit slower" back then.
The Ant-Man sensation, who recently recreated his 1991 Super Nintendo commercial, spoke to People about the jobs he would take on to make ends meet between acting gigs at the start of his career, including waiting tables and DJing weddings.
"I didn't really feel so famous. I was a working actor, and I still had a regular job when I was doing this commercial the first time. And then as it slowly started to, as I started getting more work, occasionally someone would say, 'Hey, Clueless!' or whatever. But it wasn't — nothing felt so different really."
Rudd revealed that everything felt "a little bit slower" before the internet and social media.
"And, you know, I think just the very nature of the time when there was no social media, there was no internet — everything just went by just a little bit slower."
The standout has since become an A-list actor, starring in well-known titles like Avengers, Ghost Busters, Anchorman, This Is 40, and I Love You, Man, to name only a few.
Speaking on his new Super Nintendo commercial, in which he imitates his nostalgic '90s look, Rudd commented on how strange (but cool) it felt to look back at the commercial after 34 years.
"It was funny because some people sent it to me, and that's always something I enjoy myself — seeing actors in early commercials that they did. My whole life, I've done it. 'I remember that commercial, no way! That was that actor?!' So to be on the other side of that was strange but cool."
