Nandi Bushell Responds To Dave Grohl's Drum Battle Concession

On Friday (November 20), Dave Grohl publicly conceded defeat in his drum battle with Nandi Bushell during a virtual visit to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and by Sunday (November 22), the 10-year-old prodigy had produced an epic response, savoring her win.

"Mr Grohl. Our #EPIC Battle has been one of the greatest in #ROCK history," she captioned a dramatic video on Twitter. "I accepted your submission of defeat. The happiness and joy our battle has brought will only be amplified when we create the greatest rock song EVER WRITTEN!!!"

The video shows clips from Dave's interview with Colbert and headlines from various outlets before a dark angelic Nandi pops up on the screen. “Mr. Grohl, thou declare defeat at my feet. The rock Gods of roll watch you retreat. Your legend in history will echo in time, but still, you resign to a child of 3-foot-9,” she roared.

“It has been an honor battling you, Mr. Grohl,” she ended her victory speech, “and I can’t wait to write our song together.”

The idea to collaborate came about when Nandi and Dave recently met via Zoom (an experience the Foo Fighters frontman compared to meeting a Beatle). “Well I’m not playing drums, I’ll tell ya that,” Dave told her. “I’ll play guitar, you play bass and drums, and we can both sing together.”

Though the battle may be over, we can't wait to hear this epic collaboration!
