You Can Make $500 For Taste Testing Halloween Candy

Dream job alert!

If you're the kind of person who buys a ton of Halloween candy with every intention of giving it out to trick-or-treaters but somehow ends up snacking on the Twixes and Reese's yourself, then you've come to the right place. One website is looking to hire a taste tester to sample a bunch of Halloween candy. The best part? The gig pays $500.

While this job sounds almost too good to be true, it's totally real. Sponsored by Finder Media, this promotion supports the site's goal of helping people tough decisions. While Finder Media is normally focused on helping their customers with big life choices, such as finding the right credit card, buying a home and getting health insurance, they also like to help with some lighthearted decisions, too. They've previously run promotions that paid people to taste test ice cream and cheeseburgers.

For their latest promotion, Finder Media is "looking for Halloween Candy Connoisseurs to taste and review the best Halloween candy available in the United States." The Candy Connoisseur will have to rate the Halloween candy based on the following categories:

  • Candy taste
  • Complexity of flavours used
  • Price of each treat and value for money
  • Size of each portion
  • Flavour profile
  • Jaw ache score
  • Wrapper effectiveness and appeal
  • Healthiness
  • Suitable for those with dietary needs and allergies

In order to apply to become a Candy Connoisseur, you must be a residents from the United States of America and Canada, as well as aged twenty-one years or over. If you meet these qualifications, you can apply for the gig on Finder Media's website. Should you be chosen as a Candy Connoisseur, Finder Media will deliver the "assortment" of Halloween candy to your home. Winners will be announced on November 6. Will you be applying?
