Machine Gun Kelly Mourns Death Of His Dad In Heartbreaking Post

Machine Gun Kelly is mourning the loss of his father.

On Sunday (July 5), the rapper, 30, took to Instagram to confess that he had planned to celebrate the one-year-anniversary of his album, Hotel Diablo, but things changed when his father "took his last breath." While he did not specify a cause of death, The New York Times recently reported that his father had a non-COVID-19 related illness.

"I had plans for the one year anniversary of Hotel Diablo today…that album was everything i wanted to say and i know it’s close to my fans," he wrote in the heartbreaking message. "But my father took his last breath this morning, and ive never felt a pain this deep in my life. i’m setting my phone down. love you. thank you guys for everything."

Word of Kelly's loss comes weeks after he was seen out and about with his new girlfriend, Megan Fox. The pair went public with their romance in mid-June when they were spotted hand-in-hand in Los Angeles' Sherman Oaks neighborhood. Kelly and Fox's romance is a surprising one because it arrived nearly a month after the actress and estranged husband Brian Austin Green announced that they were separating after almost 10 years of marriage.

"She said, 'I realized when I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience and I think that might be something worth trying for me,'" Green previously recalled. "I was shocked and I was upset about it but I can’t be upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way. It wasn’t a choice she made, that’s the way she honestly felt."
