Here's What Bella Ramsey Will Miss About Her 'Game of Thrones' Character

Lyanna Mormont may not be a main character, but she's a Game of Thrones fan favorite — and for good reason. She doesn't take crap from anyone. While chatting with The Cut about what she'll miss most about playing the feisty character, 15-year-old Bella Ramsey answer sounds like something her Lady of Bear Island character might say.

"I think the opportunity to stand up in front of a load of grown men and shame them," the young actress said. "I think playing confident characters also helps with your own confidence. Say you're in a situation where you're feeling anxious or nervous — you can become a character and work through it that way. I'll miss that about her."

As far as her character's popularity, Ramsey wasn't expecting the praise she's received. "I just turned up, did my filming, and would see what happens," she admitted. "I wasn't sure whether people would like her or not, because she's quite a unique character. But I'm very glad and very grateful that people do like her."

Before being cast, Ramsey confessed that she hadn't even watched the whole series and "didn't really have a clue what was going on" when they began shooting; however, she's rooting for the scrappy Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

"She's little and powerful," she said. "There's this great line from the show Matilda: 'Even if you're little, you can do a lot. You mustn't let a little thing like this stop you.'"

She is also a fan of Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie). "They're kind of kindred spirits," she said of Brienne and Lyanna. "They're both these females who are sticking up for what they believe in and proving that girls can be just as strong as boys, women can be just as strong as men."

Lyanna made an appearance in last week's Season 8 premiere. Hopefully we'll see more of her as the final season presses on.
